You can promote non-recurring activities by creating news articles directly from the activities grid. This feature minimizes manual effort while ensuring your news articles are seamlessly linked to relevant activities.
How to Create a News Article from an Activity
- Locate the Activity: In the Activities grid, find the activity you'd like to highlight.
- Navigate to the 'Action' Column: Click on choose to open the drop down menu and then select Create News Article to begin.
Pre-Filled Information
When creating a news article, several fields will be automatically populated based on the activity details, reducing the need for duplicate data entry:
- Category: Fixed to “Activities.”
- Title: Matches the activity title.
- Image: Uses the image associated with the activity.
- Description: Includes the activity’s short or long description, depending on availability.
- Publish To: Mirrors the activity's visibility settings.
- Start Date and Time: Set to the current date and time.
- End Date and Time: Matches the start date and time of the activity.
You also have the option of altering these fields.
Navigating Between News Articles and Activities
In the news feed, users can easily navigate from the news article to the corresponding activity by clicking on the View activity button in the news article.
Indications for Highlighted Activities and News Items
To help you identify activities and news articles that are linked:
- Icons in Grids: An orange icon with a white check mark will appear in both the Activities and News grids for highlighted items.
- Tooltips for Details: Hover over the icon and then click on it to see a tooltip explaining the link and providing a direct link to the corresponding activity or news article.
