There are many ways to use the Cubigo Alexa skill and a wide range of commands. This guide is to give the user an idea on how to use the skill and what is possible. More in-depth information about the commands can be found in the Commands section.
How to address Alexa
There are two ways to address Alexa. One is to start by opening the skill and posing the desired question, the other is to insert the skill name to the question.
Opening the skill
Opening the Cubigo Alexa skill can be done by saying “Alexa, open my community.” When the skill is successfully opened, Alexa will respond with “Welcome to your community. If you need any help, just ask which commands you can use.”. ********After this you can ask any question and Alexa will provide the answer.
Example Dialogue:
Q: Alexa, open my community.
A: Welcome to your community. If you need any help, just ask which commands you can use.
Q: What is my schedule for Today.
A: Your schedule for today is, …
Insert the skill name in the question
The same question can be asked without having to open the Cubigo Alexa skill first. In this case, the user has to insert the skill name in the question as follows “Alexa, ask my community my schedule for today”.
Example Dialogue:
Q: Alexa, ask my community my schedule for today.
A: Your schedule for today is, …
Missing input
When the user is asking Alexa a question but Alexa needs additional information to answer it, then Alexa will ask for this.
For example, when you are asking for your schedule or the dining menu without specifying a date, Alexa will ask you a follow up question to get the missing information.
Example Dialogue:
Q: Alexa, ask my community for my schedule.
A: For which day?
Q: Tomorrow.
A: Your schedule for tomorrow is, …
Follow-up questions
When Alexa is done answering your question, she will keep listening for a few seconds. If you wish to pose another question, you can do so at this point to keep the dialogue going.
Help
If at any point the user is uncertain of the Cubigo skills capabilities, the user just needs to ask for help and Alexa will summarize the possibilities.
Example Dialogue:
Q: Alexa, ask my community for help.
A: You can ask for your schedule, the activity calendar, the dining menu and the weather. For example, you can ask ’Alexa, ask my community what is on my schedule today’. Don’t forget to check who’s celebrating a birthday. And if you’re curious, I can update you on the latest community news too.
Quit, cancel, or stop
At any time when you are done or just do not want to keep listening to Alexa’s answer, you can say “Alexa cancel”. Alexa will immediately stop and say a friendly goodbye.
